There currently are a variety of options to travel by night bus or night train from Zurich (Switzerland) to Prague (Czech Republic), taking between approximately 10 and 13 hours: Namely the BUS Milán - Praha, the BUS Curych - Praha, the BUS Lyon - Praha, the EN 40459 and the EC 459. These lines are operated by Regiojet, ÖBB and DB.
Regiojet operates both night trains and night buses across Europe, providing various travel options. Regiojet night trains offer a range of cabin options, from standard reclining seats in open compartments to private couchette cabins designed for one to four travelers, complete with bedding and duvets for a restful journey. Wifi is available and breakfast and coffee are served for free. Regiojet night buses feature ergonomic seating that can recline for comfort, with generous legroom and amenities such as USB charging ports, free WiFi, personal entertainment screens, and complimentary refreshments available during the journey. There is also a toilet on the bus.
The Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) operate the Nightjet and Euronight trains (the latter together with other national railway agencies). The ÖBB usually offer three types of carriages in their night trains: seats, couchettes, and sleepers. Seats are for the bravest, while couchettes and sleepers provide a more comfortable journey. Couchettes can hold up to six people, whereas sleepers are private compartments for one to three people. They sometimes include a private bathroom or even a shower, sometimes only a sink.
Deutsche Bahn (DB) exited the actual night train business in 2016. However, it operates around a dozen Intercity and Eurocity trains that run exclusively at night. In these night trains, there are only first and second class seats. The lights stay on all the time and there is no way to recline the seats.
